First off, thanks for the cat! I have so many fond memories of watching Charlie Brown and the rest of the Peanuts gang that your suggestion was the first I wanted to tackle after an absence of drawing dress up requests. Great choice!

An excellent suggestion! Alongside Gravity Falls and Adventure Time, Regular Show is one of those kids’ TV programmes that I’m not ashamed of saying I watch. Come to think of it, I’,m not ashamed of saying I watch any kids’ TV show. Or film. Or comic. Wait… am I still a kid?!

I am still making my way through the dress up requests that I receive even if it’s taking me a lot longer than originally expected so apologies for the delay! When doing this Sailor Moon piece, not being a viewer of the show I had to Google ‘Sailor Moon men’ to see who I could be drawn as. There were a ton of dudes dressed as the girls so I figured I had no choice really…
I’ve been doing a lot more digital illustration recently so thought I’d record from the (almost) start to completion. The image was for an article in Cats Protection’s The Cat magazine about the importance of microchipping. Apologies for the slightly dodgy recording but I think the screen capture was set to zoom or something.
Today, February 12, sees three noteworthy events all rolled into one day. Here in the UK it’s Shrove Tuesday or Pancake day as it’s also known and in the US you guys have Abraham Lincoln’s birthday coupled with Mardi Gras. So, naturally, I give you myself and Tali sporting Lincoln’s trademark hat and beard, with me flashing for beads and Tali tossing a pancake. What else could I have drawn?

I know it comes as a shock to some people but out of all the Final Fantasy games I’ve not actually played VII. However, I used to walk to and from college with a mate who loved the game and would tell me everything - and I mean everything - about his play through so I experienced pretty much all of VII anyway and know how highly it’s regarded in the seires, hence choosing the lead characters from for this dress up request. Seeing as Tali is always the hero in these requests, she had to be Cloud and, well, I guess I had to be Aerith…

It’s true, whenever I think of Tali and what has kept her busy throughout the year all that pops into mind is her sleeping. Oh, to be a cat huh?

Remember that animation I’ve been working on and mentioning on Twitter for a few weeks now? Well this is it, the Cats Protection Christmas eCard. The only request was for it to feature a black cat but other than that I had an open brief - and about three weeks to do it in between other projects.
It’s felt like a long time coming but The Hobbit is finally out! I have my ticket booked and am very much looking forward to seeing what Peter Jackson has done with the book – so much so that I requested myself to dress up Tali and I as two of the stars. And you know what? I quite like the whole bushy beard look.
I’ve got into the bad habit of working downstairs, using the coffee tabel as a makeshift desk and ignoring the one I have upstairs. This results in a lot of kneeling with in tern results in Tali thinking she’s obtained another bed. The back of my legs. Is there anywhere she won’t sleep?!
Dress up request: The Lion King! by please-infatuation-dance
It’s been a while since I illustrated a dress up request so it’s high time I do just that! A pretty iconic image from The Lion King is when Simba is held in what is meant to be a powerful piece of symbolism. Try that with a cat like Tali and she’ll squirm her self into a frenzy. It just doesn’t work.
Tali often wakes me from my slumber so I don’t know why, last week, she scared the living crap out of me when I succumb to the sandman on the sofa. Seriously, I momentarily feared for my life when I was suddenly awoken by a pitiful meow!
I’ve mentioned this on various social sites but wanted to give a quick reminder that I currently have spaces left for Christmas commissions if you’d like to give or receive them as presents. All you need to do is contact me by December 5th for International orders or December 10th for Europe so I have time to illustrate them and send them out for Christmas.
